A man driving a white pickup died in a rollover crash Friday evening north of Hermosa.
The crash occurred about 6 p.m. near the top of Shalona Hill where County Road 250 connects with U.S. Highway 550, between mile markers 37 and 38.
According to scanner traffic, the driver was ejected about 100 feet from the vehicle. Rescue workers performed CPR but were unable to revive the crash victim.
The highway remained open as of 6:36 p.m., but a closure was likely Friday night while troopers investigate the crash and remove the vehicle, said Capt. Adrian Driscoll of the Colorado State Patrol.
The vehicle was traveling south when it went off the right side of the road, according to troopers on scene. The vehicle had New Mexico license plates.
No further information was immediately available.
