No. 2 Bayfield High School football seeks state satisfaction in 2017

Wolverines loaded with weapons
Ryan Phelps (90), Hunter Killough (11) and the Bayfield defense will be a dominant force again in 2017 after leading 2A in defense last season.
Bayfield High School quarterback Hayden Farmer will be tuned into head coach Gary Heide all season as the junior will help lead the Wolverines.
It takes a lot of tacklers to take down Bayfield’s David Hawkins (33).
Senior Hunter Killough will have plenty of chances to run the ball in 2017, whether he lines up as a running back or quarterback.
Ryan Phelps of Bayfield High School led the team with 13 sacks last season. He’s back for another year of rushing quarterbacks in 2017.
Bayfield’s Carl Heide (29) is a strong and fast runner the Wolverines can rely on.
Bayfield junior Cole Wood (50) is a tenacious player with a habit of making tackles in the opponent’s backfield.
Bayfield’s Hunter Killough (11) puts the finishing squeeze on Sterling’s Braedon Kloberdanz (13) during the 2016 Class 2A State Playoffs’ quarterfinals. The team’s tackles leader, Killough was named Honorable Mention on the Class 2A All-State team last year.
