Winner of coupon contest announced
The Durango Chamber of Commerce announces that Wendy Graham was the winner of the Be Local Coupon Book contest.
Graham received $100 in Durango Dollars for submitting her receipt and coupon from the Be Local Coupon Book and was chosen from about 70 entries.
The chamber reports that more than $115,000 dollars in Durango Dollars has been distributed in 2010. Beginning this year, the Look Local First Campaign will move from the economic development organization formerly known as LEAD to the Durango Chamber of Commerce.

Tutoring service announces new hire
Melinda Russial has joined Mumbling Marmot Tutoring, specializing in middle school and high school academic coaching including study skills, motivation and organization in all subjects.
Russial is completing a master of music degree at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and a teacher certification at Fort Lewis College. She has worked for Interlochen Arts Camp and Arts Academy and has a private clarinet studio in Durango.
The tutoring service provides private tutoring services in reading, writing and math for kindergarten to college-age students; test preparation; learning differences; languages; economics; study skills; gifted/talented enrichment; and cognitive training.

Local receives LEED accreditation
Russell Planning & Engineering announces that in November 2010, Kelly Fearney became an accredited Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) professional.
Fearney is a professional engineer and has worked for Russell Planning & Engineering for more than four years. The LEED professional credential denotes knowledge of green building technologies, best practices, and the evolving LEED Rating Systems for professionals who support green building design, construction and operations.
LEED is a third-party verification that a building or community was designed using strategies to improve performance.
