Wes Byrum’s 19-yard field goal as time expired gave Auburn its first national title since 1957 with a 22-19 win over Oregon in the BCS National Championship Game on Monday.
Auburn’s Cam Newtown threw for 265 yards and two scores and ran for 64 more yards in the Tigers’ 22-19 victory on Monday. Newton became the second consecutive Heisman Trophy winner to win the title, matching Alabama running back Mark Ingram’s heriocs from a season ago.
