I sit in Douglas, one of the richest counties in the state. Denver, Thornton, and Aurora are falling all over themselves trying to attract Amazon’s HQ2.
Meanwhile (thanks TABOR), our air quality, traffic and schools are all worsening, housing costs are horrific, water is scarce and unemployment is zilch. We do not need more jobs here on the Interstate 25 corridor. Ninety-nine percent of the projected 50,000 additional new residents will be immigrants.
May I suggest that business tax breaks and incentives be exclusively reserved for areas of the state that want them and need them?
Those of us from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins not looking to make a quick buck could do with a lot less growth.
Durango is looking mighty good to me lately, but I still can’t figure out how Jean Pierre makes bread so well at altitude.
