Durango Sports Club announces promotion
The Durango Sports Club, 1600 Florida Road, announces that William McGarva has been promoted to general manager.
McGarva attained a degree in exercise science at Fort Lewis College. He currently coaches soccer in Durango and Bayfield and enjoys playing soccer and hockey.
McGarva will continue to offer personal training sessions in addition to his new duties.

Assault services announces hire
Sexual Assault Services Organization recently hired Durango resident Beth Cantrell as its new volunteer coordinator.
As the volunteer coordinator, Cantrell will be organizing SASOs volunteers, help teach SASOs advocacy trainings and provide coverage on SASOs 24-hour hotline.
Cantrells past experience includes working at the La Plata Family Center overseeing supervised visits and Foster Parent Night Out.
Additionally, Cantrell worked with the Southwest Conservation Corps and currently works at Theres No Place Like Home Inc. Cantrell recently graduated with a major in sociology from Fort Lewis College, where she was a member of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She served as SASOs intern last fall.

Guidos receives rating from AAA
Guidos Favorite Foods, 1201 Main Ave., is now a AAA approved restaurant.
Guidos also has been given an official triple diamond rating by AAA travel service. Triple diamond is the highest AAA ranking currently given to any Durango restaurant. The award was established by an anonymous visit from a AAA food critic.
