La Plata Youth Services moves into county-owned home

Katy Pepinsky, executive director of La Plata County Youth Services, is excited to be in the nonprofit’s new location on Thursday in the former county manager’s house at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. The nonprofit moved from the old 800-square-foot A-frame building a couple of blocks away into the 2,200-square-foot house.

The house offers more privacy for staff to work with students than the former location did.
La Plata County Youth Services moved from the old 800-square-foot A-frame building at 2301 Main Ave. to a county-owned home at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. The A-frame will be razed to make way for a new Durango Chamber of Commerce building.
La Plata County Youth Services staff and clients can now cook meals at their new location in the former county manager’s house at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
