Viral stories claiming a homeless man from Mexico was arrested on suspicion of arson for starting the wildfires that have left dozens dead are false. Organic bananas are displayed at a Sam’s Club store in Bentonville, Ark., on June 4, 2015. A widely-shared story claiming that a boy contracted HIV after eating a banana purchased at Walmart in Tulsa, Okla., was false.
Sheep graze in green fields below Mt. Isabel, near Hanmer Springs, New Zealand, on Sept. 26, 2011. A viral story claiming the rural New Zealand town of Kaitangata offered to pay $165,000 U.S. dollars for people to move there was false.
