75 years ago: Gilbert Koon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Koon, was admitted to the Grand County Hospital in Moab, Utah, after he was “crushed between the front end of the dump truck he was driving and the rear end of another truck,” and sustained spinal injuries, the day before in Blanding.
50 years ago: Three Fort Lewis College students were taken to La Plata County Jail after Robert Terrill caught them removing the coin box from a vending machine, and held them at gunpoint until police arrived, at Terrill Laundromat, 2980 Main Ave.
25 years ago: A manager at the Durango Inn on U.S. Highway 160 reported to Durango Police Department that two guests allegedly checked into separate rooms, and then “just walked out of the rooms without any clothing at all.”
