New year on PGA Tour can’t start soon enough for players

Dustin Johnson is No. 1 in the world, a 33-year-old entering his prime who won four times last year. The Tournament of Champions, beginning Thursday, is reserved only for those who did something special last year – win on the PGA Tour.
Justin Thomas won the Tournament of Champions last year and went on to have one of the best seasons of any player in 2017. Thomas is one of only nine players who made it back to Kapalua this year.
