The Gold King Mine spill hit water users along the length of the Animas River and even further downstream. But we’re not going to have to bear the recovery alone.
The Pint Room, ranked one of Denver’s Top 12 Best Beer Gardens and Patios, 2620 W. Belleview Ave., in Littleton, will hold a benefit from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday to benefit the San Juan Citizens Alliance, Mountain Studies Institute and Navajo United Way.
Rob Conway, who is with the brewery, said they will be offering $5 draft pours and a silent auction for the three nonprofits.
The Pint Room selected San Juan Citizens Alliance for its environmental management and outreach; Mountain Studies Institute as an environmental research group that has done a lot of work on the spill without much funding; and the Navajo United Way because it has set up an account specifically for donations to help mitigate the losses from the disaster.
