We are about to elect two new City Council members. We need someone with vision, drive, experience and dedication to lead our community in a positive direction with a lasting impact. That individual is Emil Wanatka.
When my husband and I decided to make Durango our home 10 years ago, we saw it as a thriving town filled with recreation, opportunity and friendly people. Deciding to build our home here, we embarked on the arduous task of selecting a builder, knowing we would be absentee owners throughout most of the process.
Emil immediately instilled the confidence we were seeking, and his innate ability to understand our needs landed him the job. With his approachable, personable nature, communicating with Emil was always a pleasure. He was conscious of budget constraints and always managed to get us back on course when we strayed.
I was so impressed with Emils high level of professionalism, leadership and integrity that I wanted to work for him which I did for more than six years. During that time, I saw firsthand how Emil consistently managed his business at the same high standards. In his dealings with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the many local and state agencies, he always projected a professional, friendly and caring demeanor, earning the respect of all with whom he had contact.
In addition, he addressed the needs of our community by providing attainable housing within the city limits, making homeownership possible for those who currently were priced out of the market. Those projects employed many people and helped our community and businesses thrive.
Emils involvements with community organizations are too numerous to list. I often wondered how he did it all, but it didnt take long to see that his passion, commitment and dedication to our community fueled his desire to help.
During uncertain times, we need someone who will listen, evaluate and lead us on a course that moves our community into the future with stability. Help invest in that future by voting for Emil Wanatka. For more information, visit his website at: www.emilfordurango.com.
