Climbing seminar to be held Wednesday
Quantified Performance will host a free rock-climbing seminar on the Most Serious Injury that people will face at 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Rock Lounge, 1111 Camino del Rio, Suite 105.
Whether people climb for fun or more, the program will discuss what people can do to minimize risks and prolong a climbing career.

Lunch & Learn to be held Wednesday
The March Lunch & Learn called Solar Means Green for Your Business will be held at noon Wednesday at First National Bank, 259 W. Ninth St.
The cost is $7 for chamber members and $14 for nonmembers. The fee includes a meal.
The class will focus on how a solar installation could be a creative investment for a business. Reservations are required.

QuickBooks intro offered March 30
The Small Business Development Center at Fort Lewis College and the Durango Chamber of Commerce will sponsor An Introduction to QuickBooks workshop from 1 to 5 p.m. March 30 at the Durango Public Library in Program Room 1, 1900 East Third Ave.
Refreshments will be served. Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor Bethany McManus will lead the introduction and tutorial. The cost is $30 for members and $35 for nonmembers.

Alternative Horizons announces director
The Alternative Horizons board of directors announces that, effective March 11, Kim Zook, formerly associate director of Alternative Horizons, will assume the duties of executive director.
Zook has been with Alternative Horizons since 1999 and has served in many capacities, including but not limited to assisting victims of domestic violence through the court process by offering advocacy and support services, assisting with legal assistance for civil proceedings, implementing the Bridges of Hope Legal Project, supervising staff and grant requirements.

Dog trainer to hold program in Bayfield
Wagging Tails Pet Salon and Pet Boutique, 64 W. Mill St. in Bayfield, will host local professional dog trainer Annie Phenix, who will present Meet the Dog Trainer from 2 to 4 p.m. April 16.
Phenix formalized her training and achieved a Canine Specialist Certificate from a Texas dog-training academy. She also is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
At the presentation, Phenix will explain how to use a clicker and give a demonstration about why it is the fastest and kindest way to train.
She will have one of her rescue dogs with her for a meet and greet.
