Colorado State University Extension will host a workshop about drought management in Southwest Colorado from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 20 at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
In response to a dry winter that brought about half of the normal snow pack to the area, the workshop will discuss how to prepare for possible drought conditions during spring and summer, with topics including drought management for livestock, agriculture, home landscapes and forested areas. A presentation about effective irrigation will also be given.
The event is open to all.
Cost is $20. Lunch will be provided.
