Parkinsons support group to meet April 18 in Cortez
The Four Corners Parkinsons Support Group will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon April 18 in the Trinity Lutheran Church library downstairs, 208 N. Dolores Road in Cortez.

ServSafe food-safety class to be held at health dept.
A ServSafe Course on food safety will be held from 8 a.m. to noon from April 4 to 7 at the San Juan Basin Health Departments training room, 281 Sawyer Drive.
The cost is $150 and includes textbooks, materials and a five-year certification test.
Sponsored by the National Restaurant Association, this course is designed for professional food service management. Advance registration is required so that textbooks and materials can be ordered.

American Red Cross announces upcoming training classes
The American Red Cross will offer these health and safety training classes at its chapter office, 1911 Main Ave., Suite 282:
b Adult, child and infant CPR/AED will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday.
b Wilderness and remote first aid will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 2 and 3.
b Adult, child and infant CPR/AED will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. April 6.
b Adult, child and infant CPR/AED and first aid will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 9.
b Adult, child and infant CPR/AED will be held from 5:30 to 10 p.m. April 27.
b Adult, child and infant CPR/AED and first aid will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 30.

Health department offering senior health screenings
The San Juan Basin Health Department Senior Outreach Program will hold senior health screenings at these locations:
b 11 a.m. to noon the first Friday of each month at the Pine River Valley Senior Center, 111 S. West St. in Bayfield.
b 11 a.m. to noon the second Thursday of each month at the Durango/La Plata County Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave. in Durango.
b 11 a.m. to noon the third Thursday of each month at the Ignacio Senior Center, 115 Goddard Ave. in Ignacio.
A nurse tests blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, oxygen level and blood-glucose level. Anyone 60 years or older can receive a free nursing visit at home by calling 749-4007.
