Massage practice opens satellite office
ARIA Therapeutics Medical Massage has opened a new satellite location at 1401 Main Ave., Suite A, with Integrated Physical Therapy.
The Main Avenue clinic is open Monday through Saturday. Massage therapists will specialize in spine, orthopedics, sports/athletes, injuries, chronic pain, postsurgical, lymphatics, pregnancy and restorative care. Massage therapists will accept self-pay, Anthem BC/BS, workers compensation and Auto Med Pay.

Insurance advisers to meet Wednesday
The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Southwestern Colorado will meet at noon Wednesday at Christinas Grill & Bar, 21382 U.S. Highway 160.
Steve Dodder, president of the Colorado State Association of Health Underwriters and regional sales director for Assurant Health Insurance, will be the speaker. He will speak about current health insurance/health-care reform issues, including the legal challenges to the new law.
The $20 fee for nonmembers includes lunch.

Business After Hours to meet April 15
Business After Hours will present a New Member Expo American Idol Contest from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave.
New members will showcase their products and services and will compete for advertising prize packages worth more than $10,000. The cost is $5 for chamber members and guests.
Bar association has grants available
The Southwest Colorado Bar Association will award three grants to community organizations and individuals serving the community in La Plata and San Juan counties. Applications must be submitted to the association by April 29.
Community groups or individuals are eligible for contributions for up to $500. To be eligible, the activities of the individuals or organizations must be educational or community-oriented and not-for-profit, nonpolitical and not sports-related. Preference may be given to law-related requests if the law-related aspect of the project is obvious.

b The film Reeling for a Change will be shown at 7 p.m. Friday in The Back Space Theatre, 1120 Main Ave. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
b Chicken Sunday, an egg brunch and good sense workshop, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 17 at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave. Tickets are $5 and are available at Natures Oasis and Marias Bookshop. There will be an egg-and-pancake breakfast, custom chicken coop auction and gardening workshops.
