Everest skiers climb high for MS

Durango screening to benefit Colorado Can Do center
Mike Marolt climbs toward the north ridge of Mount Everest in his 2007 ski adventure. Marolt will be in Durango on Wednesday to show a film – “Skiing Everest” – that he and his brother made. The proceeds will benefit Can Do MS, which helps people with multiple sclerosis.

The documentary film “Skiing Everest” will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Smiley Building. Proceeds will benefit Can Do MS, which provides services to people with multiple sclerosis.
The 82-minute documentary about the adventures of Mike and Steve Marolt on the world’s highest mountain will be shown from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Smiley auditorium, 1309 East Third Ave. Tickets are $15.
A no-host reception is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Zia Taqueria will provide appetizers and Carver Brewing Co. the beverages.
