50 years ago: John S. Lopez of Durango was recovering from “a painful lawn-mower accident.” While mowing his lawn, Lopez, as he pulled his rotary mower backward to trim the walk, “tripped over his little boy’s fire engine and caught his foot in the blades.”
25 years ago: The La Plata County Search and Rescue Management Team held its eighth annual drill in Raiders Basin to prepare for possible incidents during busy summer months.
