75 years ago: The “department of game and fish of New Mexico” dumped a truckload of rainbow trout into the Animas River near Aztec and Cedar Hill.
50 years ago: A 62-year-old Hesperus man was killed in a head-on collision 11 miles south of Hesperus on Highway 140. The man, in a 1966 Datsun pickup, was driving north on the highway in the wrong lane when he hit a man from Cortez, who was driving south in a 1966 Rambler sedan, according to Colorado State Patrolmen C.D. Bushey and Frank Tomsic.
25 years ago: Someone stole an antique bathtub with claw feet that was in front of the residence at 111 E. 30th St., according to a report from Durango Police Department.
