As part of its 2018 Summer Reading Program, the Dolores Public Library is hosting an outdoor concert and film series, “Summer on the River,” featuring a lineup of local performers.
The hourlong performances, slated for alternating Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in June and July, will be followed up by a free screening of a family-friendly movie.
Green Table Food Truck of Mancos will be on deck selling food.
Local music teacher Renita Conny and a group of student performers kicked off the series June 6, followed by a screening of the 2005 film “School of Rock.” This week, Glenn Smith performed bluegrass, followed by the film “Sing.” Next up will be the popular Aloha Club ukulele band.
Music will start at 7:30 p.m., and movies start at 8:30 p.m. Here is the remaining lineup:
Wednesday, July 11: Aloha Club ukulele performance; “Moana.” Rated PG.Wednesday, July 25: Blue Canyon Jazz; “La La Land.” Rated PG-13.Registered adults may also compete in “Library Bingo.” Participants who complete five book-related activities are eligible for a grand prize drawing for two Telluride Jazz Fest tickets, donated by the Friends of the Library.
The winner will be announced at the final “Summer on the River” performance July 25. Registration is required, and information is at Doloreslibrary.org or at the library front desk.
