Pre-evacuation notices issued north of Dolores

The Dolores Norwood Road is closed at House Creek because of the Plateau Fire.

The Plateau Fire on Tuesday evening grew rapidly to the southeast, into the Beaver Canyon area. The fast growth prompted road closures and pre-evacuation orders.

Linemen from Tri-State Electric Co-op conducted a survey Wednesday to determine how close the Plateau fire was to nearby powerlines in the Boggy Draw area. They reported that the lines are not in immediate danger as of Wednesday.
