Southwest Midwives recently announced that Megan Riddle and Vanna Waldron joined its practice as registered midwives.
Riddle is from Burlington, Vermont, and worked as a volunteer emergency medical technician during college. She earned a master’s degree in nurse-midwifery and women’s health from University of Pennsylvania; taught undergraduate nursing; worked as a triage nurse in a high-risk obstetric clinic in Philadelphia; and joined a midwifery practice in northern New Jersey.
Waldron is from Seattle and studied comparative medicine and gender and women’s studies at Oberlin College. After graduation, she worked as an Americorps volunteer at Sea Mar Community Health Centers and spent three years as a birth doula at a private practice. She studied nurse-midwifery at Seattle University; completed a clinical rotation with Southwest Midwives; and completed a midwifery fellowship at Holy Family Birth Center in Texas.
