We have all heard of poverty,
It is something no one wants to be.
We hear these people are hungry and cold,
These are only two, other sufferings are untold.
Poverty is like a creeping cheetah,
It gets closer, closer, then finally eats ya!
But the worst part is that its hard to escape,
And being alone is poverty bait.
This is a very sad problem,
And one that is very common.
Single moms with a couple children
Are in poverty without their men.
How can we help these people?
I assure you we can do a whole heapful.
There is the donation of money, food, clothes.
There is also hygiene, and shoes for cold toes.
But more important than pennies and dimes,
We can help poverty by donating our time.
Serving dinner, playing with kids.
You would feel good if this is what you did.
Memories are whats important here.
For us, for them, for anyone near!
I hope my message has gotten clearly through,
Now your question could be, What can I do?
