The city of Durango has contracted with Horizon Environmental Services to conduct noxious weed abatement Thursday through Monday in the parking lot at 1917 East Third Ave. and Oxbow Park and Preserve, 500 Animas View Drive.
Follow-up spot spraying to continue through September at the two locations.
Herbicides that will be used include: Rodeo and Drive XLR8; Milestone; and 4LB Amine.
Horizon Environmental Services is licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and weed control has been tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Applications are conducted to improve quality of right-of-ways, parks and open spaces in the city’s parks and recreation system.
