After I quit laughing about Durango High Schools closure due to hay, I asked myself: Is this because we have become so fearful of everything, so much so that we cant have classes because a small proportion of students are, indeed, intolerant of hay, or is it a nice holiday for students and teachers since the administration hasnt decided whether or not the days have to be made up at the end of the school year? Then again, maybe its just me.
Whats next? Issue Tyvek haz-mat suits to all students and teachers so they can be educated in a bubble school that will give them a leg up in the real world of overreacting and fear of litigation?
I fondly remember having a great time at school-sponsored hayrides in the 60s. Little did I know I was being exposed to a weapon of mass destruction. Of course, there were no air filters to change at my school, so it didnt need to be closed for three days.
