City Span 10 to show race film for Iron Horse
The city of Durango is showing the documentary Race Across the Sky Leadville Trail 100 on government-access channel City Span 10 through May 31.
The documentary was filmed by Citizen Pictures and captures the drama of the 2009 Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race, won by Lance Armstrong.
Cameras followed the cyclists from the start line to the finish line and the 100 miles in between as they competed in one of the most intense endurance races of all time.
The film will be shown at 5 p.m. today, Thursday, Saturday and May 31, and at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Copies of the DVD are available for purchase from Trails 2000, and proceeds help support the building and maintaining of trails, educating trail users and the connectivity of road, path and trails in Durango and surrounding areas.
