The Durango High School baseball team moved to 4-5 overall, 1-1 in the Southwestern League with a 14-5 win at Montrose on Saturday morning.
John Ugai went 4-5 with four RBIs, two runs, a home run and a double.
Chris Breed had three runs and two RBIs, hitting his second home run in two games this weekend.
Ben Southworth went 3-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored.
The Demons, inconsistent offensively this season, managed a total of 15 hits in the Saturday victory.
DHS was tied 5-5 with Montrose in the sixth inning when a Christian Silva suicide squeeze drove in the winning run and opened the floodgates for eight more.
"The guys finally came alive and battled," DHS head coach Rob Coddington said.
Ugai went 4 1/3 innings before Southworth came on for 2 2/3 of scoreless relief, striking out four.
"He did a nice job," Coddington said of Southworth. "The team also did a good job behind him on defense."
The Demons travel to Bloomfield on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. start and return home for games against Grand Junction Central on Friday and Fruita Monument on Saturday.
"We're playing good baseball right now," Coddington said. "We're doing the things we've been working on."
