Ken Wrights column (Herald, June 5), complaining that Lake Nighthorse isnt being kept wild for his pleasure, represents a very selfish interest.
I live near the new lake. Im over 70, cant hike very far anymore, but I still can bike and could do some boating if I didnt have to paddle. I am very excited about the development plans, as are many other Durango residents who do not have the unlimited time or physical abilities to go into the wild, as Wright apparently believes everything should remain.
We live in an area where the wilderness is available to Wright and to all of us, with very little effort or inconvenience. I expect Wright believes that the Animas River Trail is also an abomination.
