The Ignacio High School wrestling team crowned four individual champions and finished second overall at the annual Screaming Eagles Invitational in Paonia last weekend.
Paonia, a perennial wrestling power, is ranked No. 1 in the state in Class 3A. Ignacio finished second to host Paonia in the 12-team invitational tournament.
Four Bobcats won their respective weight brackets.
Alex Peña finished first at 112 pounds.
Casey Haga won the 125-pound bracket.
Raudel Lucero won the 140-pound title.
Chance Wyatt captured top honor at 215 pounds.
Jeff Herrera of the Bobcats finished second at 119 pounds.
Will Appenzeller was second at 130 pounds.
Ignacio's Josh Plehinger finished third at 135 pounds.
Teammate Abel Velasquez finished third at 189.
Colton Wyatt of Ignacio had a fourth-place finish at 160 pounds, adding to the Bobcats' point total.
"The kids wrestled well. We're continuing to work hard," Ignacio head coach Bob Overturf said.
"We're looking forward to our home match against Bayfield on Thursday (6 p.m. at Ignacio High School)," Overturf said. The match is a makeup from a dual originally scheduled for last week.
He added that the Bobcats will wrestle in Shiprock on Saturday.
