The San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College.
After a review of 2018 field trips and a preview of the 2019 field-trip schedule, FLC professor Chuck Riggs will present a program about the field school work at the Bowthorpe site.
Riggs’ area of expertise is in Southwest archaeology with emphases on prehistoric architecture, migration, public education, Native American collaboration and cultural resource management. His experience includes fieldwork and research throughout Arizona, as well as in Southern California, New Mexico and Colorado.
Before the meeting begins, a social period will be held at 6:30 p.m.
