Mountain Middle School gets wired

Mountain Middle School is busy preparing for its inaugural year. The charter school, for grades six to eight, expects to enroll 168 students when it opens Aug. 22. To help prepare the building at 31st Street and West Second Avenue, Durango Electric donated Dustin Mosiman’s time Monday. Nancy Heleno, president of the school’s board of directors, says: “We are in dire need of skilled labor who would be willing to volunteer. We need framers, sheet rockers and plumbers.” For information about how to volunteer, call Heleno at 946-3322.
