Ray Bradbury’s novel “The Martian Chronicles” is coming to the Sunflower Theatre in multimedia form.
As opposed to more contemporary works that might focus on the scientific aspects of Martian life, Bradbury’s tales, first published in 1950, revolve around human issues, on the societal intricacies that come with forging a new world.
The Sunflower Theatre event aims to translate the book for both radio and stage through a three-part show, featuring readers, musicians, sound effects and original artwork. It will be performed live in the theater and broadcast live on KSJD and ksjd.org over three consecutive nights from March 1 through March 3, with all shows lasting from 7 to 9 p.m.
Tickets are now on sale for the performance and cost $15 for individual nights and $30 for the entire series.
