Mariah Connor receives scholarship
Mariah Connor, a 2011 graduate of Durango High School-FFA, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by New Country Ford-Lincoln-Mercury Inc. and Ford Motor Co.
Connor is the daughter of Brian Connor and Michelle Hanington of Hesperus. She plans to study agricultural business management at Northeastern Junior College.
The Build Ford Tough-FFA Scholarship Program is designed to recognize FFA members talents and accomplishments while encouraging their future academic achievements.
Jordan Hardy named to deans list
Jordan Hardy of Bayfield, a psychology and history double major at the University of Colorado, Boulder, has made the College of Arts and Sciences deans list for spring semester 2011.
The deans list requires that a student hold a 3.75 or better grade-point average and be enrolled in at least 12 graded credit hours of coursework for the given semester. This achievement ranks Hardy among the top students at CU.
