Durango is hoping for a break from its "Comeback Kids" routine.
Dating back to its March 28 come-from-behind victory at Montrose, the Durango Demons' varsity baseball team has won four consecutive games in comeback fashion.
Durango won 14-5 at Montrose after a fifth-inning rally.
Durango won 17-16 at Bloomfield after a seventh-inning rally.
Durango won 14-10 at home against Grand Junction Central after an early come-from-behind victory that started in the second inning.
Durango won 12-6 at home against Bloomfield after a fourth-inning rally.
"The boys are standing at the plate with a lot of confidence right now," Demons coach Rob Coddington said.
"We didn't panic the last couple of games when we were down and had to come from behind. Like I said before, the guys are playing like a team."
Durango (6-5 overall, 2-1 Southwestern League) will host Montrose at 3:30 p.m. today in its return to SWL play, then will host undefeated Grand Junction at 10 a.m. Saturday. Both games will be played at Ward Lee Field on the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
Coddington said Aaron Coats will start today's game, while Ben Southworth will take the mound Saturday against Grand Junction.
"I'd like to use everybody if we can, but, with Coats (today), we're going to go after it one win at a time," he said.
The lineup, Coddington said, likely will not change.
"I think we've established our lineup," he said. "We've got some guys swinging the bat really well. Defensively, we're doing really well. Pitching, we've made some adjustments.
"The guys are ready to play."
