Best bets this weekend include the BANFF Mountain Film Festival and the 11th Street Station St. Patrick’s Day Carnival.
The BANFF Mountain Film Festival World Tour returns to Durango this weekend. The festival kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday at the Community Concert Hall and will continue Saturday night. The festival will feature award-winning adventure, environmental, exploration and mountain culture films from around the world.
Each night will show different films, and festival-goers will have a chance to win prizes, gift cards, classes and adventure trips by participating in the raffle and silent auction.
The festival is sponsored by the San Juan Citizens Alliance, Rocky Mountain Wild and local businesses. Proceeds from the festival will benefit San Juan Citizens Alliance and Rocky Mountain Wild and go toward keeping Wolf Creek Pass wild.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and films start at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $15 for one day and $25 for two days. They can be purchased online at www.durangoconcerts.tix.com.
