Fort Lewis College got a boost among regional colleges with an announcement Monday that it was named one of Princeton Reviews Best in the West colleges. The list recommends the best places for undergraduates to earn a degree in four regions of the United States.
FLC was one of 121 colleges in 15 states west of the Mississippi River that received the designation. The bests were determined using institutional data, school visits, employee recommendations and student feedback. The 629 institutions across the country that make up the Princeton Reviews 2012 best colleges list represent about 25 percent of all four-year colleges in the United States, according to a news release about the announcement.
FLC touts the fact that five of its professors have been named Colorado Professor of the Year by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, a number second only to the U.S. Air Force Academy.
The college most recently made the Best of the West list two years ago, said Mitch Davis, the colleges spokesman. In April, it was listed in the Princeton Reviews guide to 311 green colleges.
