New Mexico utility says it will be emissions-free by 2040

U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-New Mexico, talks about the state’s move toward more renewable energy Monday during an event in Albuquerque. Heinrich was in attendance as Public Service Company of New Mexico announced plans for setting a goal to be emissions-free by 2040 as the state recently approved more aggressive renewable energy standards that call for 80% of electricity generated by investor-owned utilities to come from renewable sources by 2040.
