Singer-songwriter dies in head-on crash north of Durango

Greg Ryder, a longtime performer at the Diamond Belle Saloon and The Office Spiritorium in the Strater Hotel, died Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash north of Durango.
A 2012 white Ford F-350 and a 2006 blue Chevy pickup were involved in a head-on crash Tuesday morning north of Durango near Hermosa on U.S. Highway 550. The driver of the Chevy, Gregory Ryder, 67, of Durango was killed in the crash.
U.S. Highway 550 was closed for about 3½ hours Tuesday morning near Hermosa for a head-on crash that killed one and sent another to the hospital with “moderate” injuries.
