With the current economic crisis where do we turn? Sure theres plenty of blame. The Republicans, Democrats, tea party, S&P, lack of jobs, housing market, credit, debt, trade, barter, printing extra currency, etc. Recycling, going green, alternate energy sources, just not working, etc.
Simply put, if you go into a casino and win, you are merely winning someone elses money. Where in all of the above mentioned is newfound wealth?
Back in 1848-1849, gold was discovered in California. New wealth was brought into this country, along with jobs and growth. This wealth did not derive from someone elses loss. But it was new free wealth that enriched our country. This happened in 1860 in Colorado and in the 1890s in Alaska. San Francisco was built from the profits of gold, which on Monday, Aug. 8, closed at $1,731 a troy ounce.
In the 1930s depression era, more gold was pulled from the mines and streams than in the 1800s. What followed was oil, gas and other minerals.
Lets reduce conflict and help our economy by not introducing countless injunctions in court from so many environmental organizations. There are specific environmental procedures and safeguards in place that must be met. No longer is mercury or cyanide a factor. It is too dangerous, and not economical to use. Drilling for oil and gas with known fracturing chemicals is a must to ensure the safety of our drinking water. Companies can be competitive by scooping up federal land to apply for permits. Most mining is done on federal land. Lets open it up and regain new wealth once again in all mineral explorations.
