With all the recent comment on conspiracy theories, sustainable resource use and political shenanigans, I thought it would be more useful for the populace to take a break and focus on something of imminent importance: correcting the misnomer on the new bridges spanning U.S. Highway 160 at Grandview. Past comments gave the poor namesake of the Bridge to Nowhere, which has always been an incorrect naming using the singular rather than the plural for the bridges.
In my humble view, the bridges appear to be a permanent part of our landscape, and with both the city and county planning major activities related to this intersection, I thought it was high time we came up with a name for the complex that has arisen in our midst. A couple of suggestions I have would be naming them after the historic ranch that brought them into the news Webb Ranch Memorial Bridges or, since users will be dancing through the interconnected bridges and roundabout, and in tune with the famous Mousetrap in Denver, we could name the complex the Durango Fandango.
So lets have a dialogue. Send in your ideas. Maybe Action Line could sponsor a competition.
