Jim Pritchard, chief financial officer with Swan Wealth Advisors Inc., an investment-management company specializing in strategies reducing investment risks, announces that Morningstar, a leading provider of independent investment research, has rated Swans Defined Risk Strategy 5 Stars for the last three years.
The ratings are based on the companys proprietary risk-adjusted return methodology. The Morningstar Rating is a quantitative assessment of a separate accounts past performance as measured from one to five stars.
Swan Wealth Advisors, founded by Randy Swan in 1997, is a Durango company with $107 million under management.

Appaloosa announces its new location
Appaloosa Trading Co., established in 1982, has moved to a new location at 750 Main Ave., south of Seasons.
This large and newly expanded location allows for additional display of the business leather goods. In addition, the store offers mens and womens apparel, jewelry, home furnishings and more.
The store is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Region 9 announces board members
The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado announces the addition of Laurel Rematore, Mark Prouty and Laurie Sigillito to its board of directors as at-large members.
Rematore is the executive director of the Mesa Verde Museum Association, a member of the Dolores Rotary Club and a recent graduate of Leadership Montezuma.
Prouty is the branch manager for SOS Staffing Services for the Durango and Cortez offices. He is the former president of the High Noon Rotary Club in Durango and has served on the Southwest Workforce Advisory Board since 2000.
Sigillito is the owner of FASTSIGNS of Durango, participates with the La Plata Economic Development Alliance and has personal experience with Region 9s loan services.
