The Creative Economy Commission and The Durango Herald are hosting a weekly competition for the community to discover some of the city’s public art pieces. Each Monday, the Herald will run a photo clue.
Find the statue in town, identify the name of the public art piece and submit your entry below. Each Friday, a winner will be randomly selected from the entrants who correctly named the piece. The Creative Economy Commission will award the winner two passes to the Durango Community Recreation Center or a pre-loaded parking card worth $20.
Congratulations to last week’s winner Brooke Frazer.
This week’s clue: With a little wind, this piece goes round and round. Situated with a great view of the river and the Animas River Trail, it was created by Gunner Anderson, and was added to Durango’s Public Art Collection in 2003.
