Sorrel Sky Gallery announces new hire
Sorrel Sky Gallery, 828 Main Ave., announces the hiring of Linda Perala-Hunt as full-time sales associate.
Perala-Hunt also will participate with purchasing. She received a degree from the Memphis College of Art in Memphis, Tenn. Perala-Hunt first moved to Durango in 1981 for the summer during college, then returned to Durango in 1993. She worked at Toh-Atin Gallery from 1994 until 2004, as well as with various florists and as a private gardener. Since 2005, Perala-Hunt had been spending her time between Durango and Santa Fe until returning to Durango full time to work for Sorrel Sky Gallery.

Wells Fargo announces promotion
Wells Fargo executive John Francis has been named market president for the Durango market. He also will continue as the markets business banking manager.
Francis has more than 30 years of experience in financial services and is an 18-year Wells Fargo veteran. Since moving to Durango in 2002, he has been business banking manager for the market, which includes Durango, Ignacio and Pagosa Springs.
Francis is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in public management. He is past president of Daybreak Rotary, La Plata Economic Development Action Partnership and United Way of Southwest Colorado. He continues to serve on the board of directors for Daybreak Rotary and on the executive committee for the Rotarys Red Ball fundraiser. Francis also serves as Wells Fargos representative for the Durango Alliance and is a board member of the campaign cabinet for United Way.

First National Bank announces new hire
First National Bank of Durango announces the addition of Marissa VanAlstine as a customer-service representative at the banks main office, 259 W. Ninth St.
VanAlstine started with the bank Aug. 29. She is originally from the Arizona and Las Vegas area but has lived in Durango for more than six years. VanAlstine attended Durango High School and graduated in 2009. She previously worked at Wells Fargo.

Business After Hours to be held Friday
Business After Hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Durango Urgent Care, 2577 Main Ave.
The cost is $5 for Durango Chamber of Commerce members and guests. The event will be held outside, on the north side of the Urgent Care building. Participants should park on 26th Street or across Main Avenue at the baseball fields by the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
