All of us know our voting system is lacking, to say the least, with gerrymandering, lobbying, etc. The Mueller report, along with his recent testimony over Russian influence in the 2016 election to place Trump in office, assured the public that changes need to be implemented where our vote is legitimately recorded.
Let’s not forget the embarrassing “hanging chad” from the 2000 presidential election, where old-school unreliable voting machines were in use when state-of-the-art methods with a paper trail could have brought us a different president – without a 9/11, a war in Iraq/Afghanistan, and the list goes on.
Just think, in 2000 we had no debt and the economy was great with Democrats and Republicans working together starting with the 1992 Presidential Election. Sounds like a fairytale now with the 20 years of gridlock and nastiness.
Hopefully, we can do better in 2020 and the 40% of Americans that didn’t vote in 2016 and everyone else who did will feel confident with real trust to get out and vote.
