Overeaters Anonymous to offer workshop
Durango Overeaters Anonymous will offer a workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 495 Florida Road, across from Chapman Hill.
Participants will learn how the 12 steps of Overeaters Anonymous can free them from obsessive behaviors about food.

FLC board, committees to meet Thursday
The Academic & Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday followed by a meeting of the Business Affairs Committee at 2:15 p.m.
The Old Fort Sub-Committee also will meet at 3:15 p.m. All meetings will be held in the Presidents Conference Room in Room 2503 of Berndt Hall at FLC.

Lecture series announces speakers
The Four Corners Lecture Series announces its final two speakers for the season:
Carey Vicenti will present Indians Dont Read: Narrative and Oratorical Destinations at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Center of Southwest Studies Lyceum at Fort Lewis College.
David Whitley will present Petroglyph Dating and the People of the Americas: Recent Advances in Chronometric Techniques from the California Desert at 7 p.m. Friday in the Crow Canyon Archeological Center.
Film about drug industry to be shown Friday
The Centers of Light will present Conscious Movie Night with the showing of Big Bucks, Big Pharma at 7 p.m. Friday at the Centers of Light, 30705 Road V.6, in Dolores.
Donations will go toward relief efforts for the famine in Somalia.
The movie focuses on the pharmaceutical industrys marketing practices.

The Order of Mercy will host a cleanup from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Bridge Emergency Shelter, 601 N. Mildred Road, Suite 1, in Cortez.
Cleaning supplies and snacks will be provided.

Gardening club to hold yard sale Saturday
Durango High Country Gardeners will host a Parking Lot Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 495 Florida Road.
Items will include young mens clothing, sheets, blankets, comforters, houseplants, fresh-cut flowers and more. Proceeds will go toward the clubs garden at the Durango Discovery Museum, a butterfly garden at Columbine Christian School and a garden at the Four Corners Nursing Home.
Journey of Hope 5K to be held Saturday
The 17th annual Journey of Hope 5K family run and walk will take place Saturday at Mercy Regional Medical Center, 1010 Three Springs Blvd.
The event honors women and their families whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Walkers will start at 9 a.m., and runners will start at 9:15 a.m. The entry fee is $20 for adults, and $18 for Durango Motorless Transit members and includes a gift. Children younger than 12 are free.
