Chuckwagon breakfast to be held Saturday
The Animas Museum will celebrate the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering with a chuckwagon breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday on the museum grounds, 3065 West Second Ave.
Harry Baxtrom will begin cooking at 5:30 a.m. in his wagon, which is a reproduction of an 1866 chuckwagon. The cost is $10 for people older than 10 and $5 for children younger than 10. Proceeds will benefit the La Plata County Historical Society.

Greenmount Cemetery tour to be held
The Victorian Aid Societys annual Greenmount Cemetery Tour will be held at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at the cemetery.
Participants will hear first-person portrayals of some of the lesser known pioneers. There is no charge but donations will be accepted.
Food for children to be discussed
Julia Fisher from Namaste Health Center will present Your Childs Constitution and the Foods that Nourish It from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Durango Natural Foods, 575 East Eighth Ave.
Participants will determine a childs constitution from an Oriental medicine perspective and discover what foods will enhance her or his vitality and prevent illness.
Recipes and samples will be available. Participants should bring a bowl, mug and utensil.

FLC announces homecoming events

Fundraiser to help local family adopt
A Pig Shoot Out will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Durango Harley-Davidson Dealership, 750 South Camino del Rio.
Money raised will help the Coleman family adopt Grace Lynn from an orphanage in Eastern Europe. The 3-year-old girl was abandoned at brith because she has Dandy-Walker Syndrome, a congenital brain malformation. The cost is $5 for a lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs. There will be a bouncy castle for children.

Durango Natural Foods will hold the second annual HarvestFestival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at 575 East Eighth Ave.

Durango-La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave., will hold these classes:
Tai Chi for Health will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays beginning Oct. 5. The five-week class will be taught by Nancy Wallace. The cost is $9.
Introduction to Email workshop will be from 12:45 to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 11.
E-commerce and Ebay workshop will be from 12:45 to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 13.
Introduction to Microsoft Word workshop will be from 12:45 to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 20.
Other computer workshops will include Working with Digital Photos on Oct. 18 and Internet I and II on Oct. 25 and 27. All computer classes are taught by Jon Cordalis. Basic computer literacy is required. The cost of each workshop is $15.
