Chili cookers needed for Oct. 22 fundraiser
Chili cookers are needed for the Pine River Community Learning Centers annual fundraiser for Literacy, Learning and Lifework. The chili cookoff features three categories: traditional red, traditional green and alternative or homestyle chili, which can include beans and other fillers.
Lewis True Value Mercantile is donating the Peoples Choice Grand Prize, which is a gas grill. Sunnyside Farms Market will provide an assortment of quality meat as prizes for the Judges Choice Chilis.
OctoberFeast will be held Oct. 22 at Eagle Park in Bayfield. Cookers will set up at 7:30 a.m., cooking will begin at 8 a.m., and chili tasting for the public will start at 11:30 a.m. Judging will be held at noon.

OctoberFeast also will provide activities for families from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., including the carrousel from Alices Place, pumpkin carving/painting, face painting, harvest games and more.
Formea family benefit to be held Saturday
The community is invited to a chili supper from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at St. Ignatius Church.
This is a benefit event for the Formea family to help offset the medical and travel expenses incurred for baby Jaxons health care. There will be an auction, homemade food and music by Tyller Gummersall.
A donation account has been set up at Wells Fargo.

Booth space available for Ignacio craft fair
Ignacio Schools Relay for Life team will host a Curing Cancer With Crafts craft fair Nov. 5 at Ignacio High School. Booth space costs $10 and includes one round table if needed.
Booth set-up will be at 8 a.m. The craft fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
