Lunch & Learn to be held Oct. 26
The October Lunch & Learn, Make the Most of You Media Exposure, will be held at noon Oct. 26 at First National Bank of Durango, 259 W. Ninth St.
The cost is $7 for Durango Chamber of Commerce members and $14 for nonmembers.
Nancy Wharton and Jasper Welch, co-owners of DurangoSpace; Ted Holteen, Arts & Entertainment editor at The Durango Herald; and Heather Knight, PR and marketing manager at the Durango Area Tourism office, will be the presenters.
The presentation will cover earned media, which is free, favorable publicity gained through promotional efforts other than paid advertising.
The value of exposure gained through editorial influence will be discussed, and participants will learn how to target a message to promote a business.

Videographers earn legal video certification
Gary Penington, owner of Southwest Video Productions, and alliance partner Dan Osby, owner of Syncore Media, recently earned certification from the National Court Reporters Association as certified legal video specialists.
This certification validates their skills and abilities to properly acquire and preserve testimony for federal and civil procedures including depositions, settlement videos, real-estate, forensic and accident re-creation videos. Both companies also collaborate to provide other video services including training and promotional Web videos.
