DHS paper selected All-Colorado Newspaper
The Durango High School paper, El Diablo, recently was selected as a 2010-11 All-Colorado Newspaper by the Colorado High School Press Association.
Out-of-state judges scored several issues from last year, particularly in the areas of news coverage, writing, graphics and photography. Newspapers from throughout the state then were rated as Merit, Commendation, or All-Colorado winners, with All-Colorado representing publications that consistently attained the top levels of performance and met nearly all the journalistic standards listed on the rubrics.
El Diablo is under the advisement of Barbara McLachlan, and Jacqueline Heinrich and Kate McElwain were the co-head editors.
