All the blinking yellow lights on north Main Avenue from 17th Street to Animas View Drive arent a malfunction they are an update.
Drivers are going to see several changes in traffic signals and lane directions in the next few days, with many changes depending on the time of day.
The Colorado Department of Transportation is making significant alterations to left-turn signals from Elmores Corner (U.S. Highway 160 and Colorado Highway 172) through the city beginning Thursday and continuing through Sunday.
The six intersections adjusted Thursday 17th, 22nd, 25th, 27th and 32nd streets and Animas View Drive will now have three left-turn arrows: green for protected left turns, meaning oncoming traffic is stopped; flashing yellow permissive left-turn arrows, indicating a driver can turn left when there is a safe break in oncoming traffic; and solid red arrows, meaning left turns are prohibited.
Drivers westbound on 32nd Street will now have two left-turn lanes onto Main Avenue to improve the flow of traffic.
Drivers should expect some single-lane closures and slowed traffic while signal adjustments are made over the next few days.
